TRACK THAT ADVISOR
Privacy Policy for Google OAuth:
This privacy policy is for the Track That Advisor Google Sheets add-on, which uses Google OAuth to access your Google Sheet.
Limited Use Disclosure: Track That Advisor’s use and transfer to any other app of information received from Google APIs will adhere to Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Does the Google Sheets add-on send my data to any third-party services, other than my own CRM?
No. This add-on will never send your data to a third-party service without your permission.
Does the add-on send the data in my Google Sheet anywhere outside of the spreadsheet and my CRM?
The data accessed by the add-on, including all of the contents of the spreadsheet, your email address, and the spreadsheet url, are used internally by the add-on code to authenticate you as a Track That Advisor user and to enable the functionality of the add-on. But they are never transferred or saved outside of the Google Sheet, the Google server that runs the add-on code, and your CRM. The only exception is that the spreadsheet ID (part of the spreadsheet url) may be sent to internal Google Cloud logs in order to help the developers troubleshoot problems with the add-on.
As a Track That Advisor client, in your contract you may opt in or out to having your data anonymously aggregated and used in order to glean national averages and a report to Advisors Excel, but this is a separate matter and is not handled by the Google Sheets add-on.
What Happens To User Credentials Entered into the Add-on?
Third-party software credentials entered into the add-on will be handled as recommended by that software company. Credentials will never be readable by the add-on developers or Track That Advisor and will never be saved in plain text. Users can disable their third-party integrations at any time, which will remove any cached tokens or other authorization artifacts from the system. Credentials must be refreshed periodically, as auth tokens will not persist in the add-on indefinitely.
The OAuth Content Screen in Detail:
When a user opens the add-on for the first time, the following consent screen will be displayed:
Why these permissions are required:
View and manage spreadsheets that this application has been installed in - Required so the add-on can update the tracker spreadsheet. This permission does not allow the add-on to access the user’s private spreadsheets.
Display and run third-party web content and prompts and sidebars inside Google applications- Required in order to display menus, sidebars and alert messages in Google Sheets. The add-on opens a sidebar so that the user can select options for a CRM import, start the import, cancel the import, and view import results.
Connect to an external service - Required to connect to Redtail (or other CRM) and to authenticate the user as a Track That Advisor client.
It is also possible that the add-on will use the email address associated with your account, together with the spreadsheet ID, in order to authenticate you as a Track That Advisor client.
